Aquaint Yourself with the World
D&C 90:15
And set in order the churches, and study and learn, and become acquainted with all good books, and with languages, tongues, and people.
The Lord teaches that we are to educate ourselves, to become "learned" in all good things of the world and in all good practices as well. To learn about people is a good practice. This removes ignorance and biases. This also moves us to overcome hate, bad discrimination, misinformation and most of all, blindness to how things really are.
This knowledge will help a person understand things of the world and other people, other belief systems and faith, other churches and even doctrines. Of course, one must use common sense. There is no need and no reason to "learn" about evil things. This is not good.
Pursue all good things as much as you can. I believe there is no need to seek exactly all knowledge and that would not be humanly possible, but pursue a good general understanding of most things at least and if needed, seek more specific, detailed, or indepth knowledge where needed. Be reasonable in these pursuits, approach it in a balanced way and remember to avoid contentious information that is usually biased.
Proper discernment is always needed in this, both worldly and spiritual, applied accordingly.
Amen
